XSQUADS is looking for an experienced Lead 3D Animator to take charge of character, weapon, and cinematic animations while mentoring a team of animators.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the 3D animation team in creating high-quality character, creature, and cinematic animations.
- Develop smooth, realistic, and stylized animations for in-game actions, cutscenes, and promotional videos.
- Oversee rigging and skinning processes, ensuring efficient animation-ready assets.
- Collaborate with layout artists, cinematic artists, and VFX teams to ensure seamless animation integration.
- Work closely with game designers and developers to ensure animations align with gameplay mechanics.
- Optimize animations for performance in real-time game engines like Unity 3D or Unreal Engine.
- Utilize AI-powered animation tools and motion capture data to enhance workflows.
- Provide feedback, training, and technical guidance to the animation team.
- Maintain animation consistency and style coherence across all assets.
- Troubleshoot technical animation issues and work with engineers to resolve them.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior or Lead 3D Animator in the gaming, film, or animation industry.
- Expertise in Maya, Blender, 3ds Max, or similar 3D animation software.
- Strong understanding of character movement, physics, and animation principles.
- Experience working with game engines (Unity 3D, Unreal Engine) for real-time animation.
- Ability to animate humanoid and non-humanoid characters, vehicles, and props.
- Knowledge of rigging, skinning, and motion capture integration.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted animation tools for motion enhancement.
- Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in procedural animation techniques.
- Knowledge of scripting for animation automation (Python, MEL, or Blueprint in Unreal Engine).
- Understanding of cinematic storytelling and camera movement.
- Passion for game animation and interactive storytelling.
